
In addition to his insurance recovery practice, Mr. Milone has unique and broad experience including service as General Counsel for the United States operations of a German-owned restaurant chain, managing an intellectual property holding company, and serving as Chair of the D.C. Litigation Department of a major New York based law firm. In that capacity Mr. Milone successfully litigated matters involving antitrust, false advertising, defamation, breach of contract, personal injury, and many others.
Mr. Milone is the Vice Chair of the Great Falls Lacrosse Association, and has coached youth lacrosse for over ten years.
He grew up in the New York area, and lives in Great Falls, Virginia with his wife and three sons.

Throughout his career, Matt was recognized by Chambers, the American Lawyer, the Legal Times and several DC-based Bar publications as one of the top insurance recovery lawyers in DC (the most recent recognizing him as one of “the top 10” insurance coverage lawyers in DC in 2022). He was on the Editorial Board of the Environmental Claims Journal, and was also on the Board of the Journal of Insurance Coverage. He taught an insurance coverage practice seminar to third-year law students at the University of Virginia (his alma mater) along with Professor Ken Abraham, and is now a Professorial Lecturer in Law at the George Washington University Law School, teaching an insurance law course that involves drafting complaints, answers, discovery requests and summary judgment motions. He attended Princeton University (class of 1977) and received his undergraduate certificate from the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs (now the Princeton School of Public and International Affairs). He grew up in Bethesda, Maryland and now lives in Washington, DC with his wife. His two adult sons live in Amsterdam and Washington, DC.
